1st IOGKF Asia Gasshuku, Phuket

Dear IOGKF Family,
I just came back from the 1st IOGKF Asian Gasshuku. This event was proposed by Sensei Pervez Mistry (9th dan, IOGKF India) with the goal of having a big annual gathering in the Asian region, just like our European Gasshuku, North American Gasshuku (MCF), South American Gasshuku and Oceania Gasshuku.
The event was a great success with members from 15 countries participating in the beautiful paradise that is Phuket island, Thailand.
I attached some of photos, and we are going to post many images from this event on the IOGKF Website and Facebook page. These images speak more than words.
I would like to thank Sensei Mistry and his team for their great hospitality as well as making history in the story of IOGKF.
At the event, we had a country head meeting and discussed possibility of combining the Asian Gasshuku with the Oceania Gasshuku to make a new format of the Asian Pacific Gasshuku we used to host in the past. Several countries want to host the future events. We will announce shortly for the next country to host this event.
In IOGKF, we have three different categories of Gasshuku.
1.World Level - supported by members of all countries
a.World Budosai
2.International Gasshuku - supported mainly by members of countries of each region
a.European Gasshuku
b.Miyagi Chojun Festival (North America)
c.South American Gasshuku
d.Oceania Gasshuku
e.Asian Gasshuku (1st time this year in Phuket)
f.We also had Euro-Asian Gasshuku several times in the past.
3.National Gasshuku - supported mainly by members of hosting country
a.hosted by each country
We will not have any International events in 2024 as we have a World Budosai in the middle of next year.
Please encourage all of your members to come to this special event, our only major event in the new year.
I will let you know as soon as Okinawan Government confirms the dates for the World Budosai.
